Frequently Asked Questions
There are many benefits to home visits for both you and your furry friends. Every small stressful event of a standard veterinary visit (e.g. being put into the cat basket, the car journey, the smells and noises of the waiting room, the consulting room table) all adds up to make many pets very anxious.
By coming directly to your home, we eliminate all of this pre-emptive stress, making the whole experience more positive for your pet.
It may also be more convenient for you (e.g. transport difficulties, busy lifestyle, trying to manage children and pets).
Home visits are the mainstay of our business, although we can also do remote consultations for a limited range of queries. Home visits enable us to assess your pet in their environment and prescribe the treatment they need. We are unable to prescribe treatment remotely but can give advice.
We do not have a clinic premises. For in-clinic services, we recommend Medivet Leamington Guy.
Our consultation charges include the visit fee. The charge is generally more than a standard clinic appointment but much less than a home visit from a clinic-based practice.
Our charges reflect the greater amount of time that we spend getting to know you and your pet, and the more personal service that we provide. We send a detailed report after our consultations so that you have a clear record of our advice.
We offer discounts when more than one animal is seen at the same visit.
You can also spread the cost with our Pawsitive Wellness Plans.
We can assess your pet at home and discuss the best options with you. For general surgery and hospitalisation requirements, we refer to Medivet Leamington Guy. For more complex cases, we can refer to a number of specialist veterinary referral hospitals.
We do visits for a 15 mile radius of the centre of Warwick/Leamington. Click here for full details.
If you live outside of this area, we may be able to provide remote consultations for a limited range of conditions (please note we cannot prescribe treatment remotely).
We provide treatment for the following animal species:
- Guinea Pigs
If you have a pet that isn’t listed here, please contact us for advice.
We provide a full range of first-opinion consulting services (e.g. anything that you would expect from a vet that doesn’t involve a hospital stay). This includes:
- Routine health checks
- Treatment of unwell pets
- Blood tests
- Nutrition advice
- Nail clipping
- Anal gland emptying
- End-of life care and euthanasia
We also provide remote consultations for advice.
